Menthol ban has already been enforced

EU tobacco products directive (TPD EU/2014/40) is banning sales of menthol flavoured cigarettes as of 20th of May, 2020.

What is a menthol ban and what does it mean?

According to the EU Parliament Directive, menthol ban is a prohibition of menthol cigarettes and mentholated tobacco products in the European countries.

This new law strengthens the rules on how tobacco products are manufactured and sold in the EU. Cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco (RYO) products may no longer have characterising flavours of menthol and should not be displayed for sale as of May 20th, 2020.
